Angler Account-
 
I was fishing the night of June 22nd on Bull Shoals Lake with Eric Perryman.  Best friends, we always fish together and got on the water around 7:30 pm.  I instantly hooked up with a smaller striper followed by two smallmouth, a walleye and 4 more stripers.  Around 10:30, I was casting and felt a bite. I set the hook and it was on using 20lb Godline on a medium heavy favorite rod with a Lew’s reel and a big Storm swimbait.
I hooked up and cut free from my anchor. Down the lake I went. This fish almost spoiled me several times and never would come to the top. I then knew I had hooked a giant. I was fishing out of my WS Ride 115. After about .5 of a mile I finally stopped him. He hung to the bottom and I felt him start coming up.  When it finally surfaced I was in awe as to what I had just caught. I got him to the boat and now it was time to figure out how to get him onboard as he was four feet long.
I called Eric and told him to “get your light ready, I have a giant”.  I paddled back up the lake where I hooked this monster and he says “oh my gosh, you have to get that checked for some sort of record”. It was a very humbling and exciting experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.
