The Black Pearl out of Point Loma in San Diego California is the only sportfishing charter operation of its kind dedicated to Offshore and Channel Island BIG GAME KAYAK FISHING ONLY! The Pearl also berths in Long Beach and Oxnard Harbors as needed targeting albacore, yellowfin, big eye and bluefin tunas plus yellowtail, California halibut, salmon and more.
The PEARL is a solid fiberglass 65x19 ft deluxe sportfisher with all of the latest electronics and amenities. Huge bait capacity, tons of brine storage, chase Zodiac plus an experienced, dedicated crew with a head for big game kayak fishing...Weve been waiting many years for this kind of kayak fishing opportunity to arise and we're all fired up about it.

Trips for 2008 are limited to 13 kayaks. No boat fishermen to fill out the
load. Kayak anglers only. 2-2.5 day trips start at $445 and go to $495
inclusive of bait and meals. Ports and destinations (fuel) determine the trip
prices. Anglers will have a sleeper bunk and a bunk for their dry gear (a few
anglers will share a gear bunk if needed).
Here are a few trip selections...
Were going offshore to fish the TUNA.
In season, well fish offshore for tunas including albacore and yellowfin plus
dorado. Blue fin and the ultimate catch, big eye tuna are mixed in too.
Santa Catalina AND San Clemente Islands for yellowtail, white sea bass, halibut+.
Mexico's Coronado Islands for yellowtail and groundfish
Ventura/Santa
Barbara Salmon when they return and the LOG California barracuda that accompany them.
Well fish San Nicolas and San Miguel Islands through the course of the
year.
Five Couples to Catalina- A great winter weekend trip. Fishing,
Island Tours, run of the Pearl a romantic night ashore in Avalon. This trip will
sail in the off season patterned like a private mini cruise with gourmet food and drink.
Mostly fishing for bass and halibut. 2-3 days.
5-6 Day Mothership Trips"- Starting in 2009, 2 Long Range Trips will go offshore for tuna and fish the Channel Islands for yellowtail, WSB and halibut.
Trip Notes: 1) Barracuda, lingcod, rockfish, trophy ocean
white fish and calico bass are all in the counts around the Islands. 2) In season,
we'll fish the spiny lobsters around the Islands so bring your hoops and your (new) DFG
spiny lobster report cards! 3)
Trip Dates-Labor Day Weekend, Sunday and Monday August 31- Sept 1 out of Point Loma-Short notice so we'll see what happens. San Clemente and Catalina for a 2.5 day trip. In the event the tuna are still within range, we go that way.
