The CKF Clinics are conducted year `round in and around Southern California USA and Baja California Mexico. Clinics focus on a variety of topics like specie specific techniques, big game kayak fishing, kayak fly fishing, fishing submarine structure utilizing sonar, Eastern Sierra lake fishing and much more. Many anglers who join us are highly skilled and just come to fish with the group. Multi-day CKF Clinics are intended for entry level and experienced kayak anglers seeking to expand the scope of their fishing or just have a great time. Kayak rentals are available for out-of-towners on all trips. Malibu Day Clinics (in Malibu, Dana Point and Newport Bay) are offered for kayak anglers who are fairly new to the sport, own their own kayaks and have fished them at least a few times. Kayak fishers who are new to the sport without any previous experience on a kayak should consider the CKF Schools. Contact any CKF Guide for more information,
SPECIAL NOTE: In part due to ongoing issues reported in the national news concerning crime against tourists in Baja California, we have suspended our Northern Baja kayak fishing trips for 2008. For those who choose to make the trip, Dale at www.labufadoradive.com and Sam at www.Puertosantotomas.com have long supported the sport and can accomodate all your needs.

La Bufadora & Puerto Santo Tomas
SPECIAL NOTE: In large part due to ongoing issues reported in the national news concerning crime against tourists in Baja California, we have suspended our Northern Baja kayak fishing trips for 2008. For those who choose to make the trip solo, Dale at www.labufadoradive.com and Sam at www.Puertosantotomas.com have long supported the sport and between them, can accommodate all your needs for small and large groups with camping and casita lodging options. Both venues also have skippered pangas available.
The La Bufadora trip is offered for just about every level of experienced kayak angler, including entry level. Your guides will share their knowledge on fishing Mexico's Pacific side and the "ins and outs" of fishing and traveling in Baja California. An excellent gateway for kayak anglers who are new to the Baja fishing experience, La Bufadora brings back a lot of repeat participants. The kayak fishing expeditions are a great weekend of fun and camaraderie on Mexico's northern Pacific coast. All food is provided. Our portable galley is "self cook and clean".

Punta Banda with it's rock islands and gardens and vertical landscape is special. This is the famed "cold water region" with deep underwelling currents that bring a "central coast" fishery to Northern Baja with year `round catches of lingcod and shallow water rockfish. We also target yellowtail, white sea bass, lingcod, cabezon, bonito, barracuda and rockfishes. The calico bass action is phenomenal in the boiler rocks, coves and kelp forrest and heavy fish are landed (and released) on almost every trip. We've had 20# bonito and yellowtail way over 30#. The weekend includes a comprehensive orientation to fishing this rugged portion of the Mexican Pacific and three to five guided fishing sessions. We may take you fishing to the tuna tanks for yellowtail and on the rocky coastline to all our big bass and lingcod spots. Saturday night the CKF guides host a surf and turf dinner. We fish Sunday too. The clinic fee includes all your food as well as parking, launching and bunkhouse fees. We stay in an ocean-view house overlooking the Pacific which has a nice bunkroom, a bathroom, kitchen area, two common areas with sofas and 2 showers. The casita is situated right next to the launch area. Since many people ask, this is a safe location. We've never had any thefts or other problems here often associated with traveling in Mexico. Additional costs are: optional tent camping fee ($5 per day), toll road (approx. $15 round trip), Mexican boat permit and Mexican fishing license (good for one year). We also recommend that you purchase Mexican auto insurance before crossing the border or purchase it in advance from your insurance carrier. Carpooling with another angler will halve travel expenses and double the travel fun. La Bufadora is about 2 1/2 hours south of San Diego and 5 hours from Los Angeles. Let us know if you want a ride/rider and we'll help to network everyone.
La Bufadora is an easy trip and a great skills builder through fishing experience. Just throw all your kayak fishing stuff in the truck, load your boats and let us do the rest! Reservations and payments must be received at least two weeks in advance of each trip. Early reservations are recommended since most trips sell out. If you have a group of 6-15 and would like to be guided privately on another date, call the CKF office. Gear lists, directions and confirmation information are provided.
Cost of the La Bufadora Weekend is $175.00 per person.
If you enjoy relaxing, campfires,
cold Mexican beer, fresh fish, sunshine, panoramic Pacific sunsets and sore arms after a
full day of pulling on fish... chances are you'll have a heck of a time. It's always a fun
group of people, a good way to meet fellow kayak anglers and great fishing!
